Introducing the newest member of the Health and Social Care Team

Hello I’m Ben,

I have just joined the Rossett Training team as an Assessor, Tutor and Mandatory Training Lead.

I am honestly thrilled to work with such a dedicated team of people. I wanted to work in care from a young age as my brother and sister both have learning difficulties. Support and care was already part of my world. I began my care career as a Support Worker back when I was 18. I worked with older people, people with learning difficulties and Acquired brain Injuries.

I enjoyed my work so much, a year later I found myself being offered an Assistant Manager position within supported living. I worked hard to build a new Service and won awards for leading a flagship service with the active support model. I later progressed to Service Manager and developed specialised Residential homes for people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

A big part of my role included training. I delivered in-house training to my staff teams and this is where the bug for training and assessing derives from.

I left the care world for a short spell to run a pub with my husband. It was a huge success but I missed my previous career in care and training. I trained to become an assessor/tutor and now I am working with Rossett Training Ltd to offer my support, skills and professional knowledge to our learners with training sessions and to complete their apprenticeship awards.

Looking forward to meeting you all soon,
